This image may not be used to state or imply ESA endorsement of any company or product Martian surface. This area lies south-east of the Ma'adim Vallis, the second largest canyon on Mars. It is thought this dark wrinkled area is part of a basaltic lava flow. Image taken by the High-Resolution Stereo Camera (HRSC) on the Mars Express spacecraft on 24th December 2008.
