Skara Brae ancient village located on the Orkney Islands. On the way from Kirkwall we stopped at the standing stone called Ring of Brodgar.

We have always wanted to visit Skara Brae but it wasn’t until we went on this cruise from Southhampton to Iceland that we were able to fulfill our dream. It didn’t disappoint, as the settlement was magnificent and the Visitors Centre had a replica constructed to get a better insight into the way they used to live. To think that it took a large storm to uncover this site which could have remained uncovered for years. Well worth the visit.
