A general view from the south of the Falkirk Wheel visitor attraction on a still and sunny autumn day with wheel turning

Editorial use only. No commercial use. The Falkirk Wheel beginning to turn with both canal boats in the two boat carriers beginning to rotate 180 degrees to lift/lower the vessels 25 metres. The semi circular visitor centre is to the right and boat piers for mooring are to the left. The lock exit to the Forth and Clyde Canal can clearly be seen to the left of the visitor centre building. The main purpose of the Falkirk Wheel is to connect up the Forth and Clyde Canal with the Union Canal avoiding the building of a series of individual locks
