(2. ) Whereas, medical missionaries are sent forth as messengers of theChurch and ambassadors of Christ ; and Whereas, the recognition of this adds largely to their influence andusefulness ; Resolved :—To recommend that medical missionaries should receivetheir commission from the home Churches and Societies in a public andunmistakable way, and be solemnly set apart as missionaries of the
