ELECTRIC ILLUMINATED FOUNTAINSOne of the difficult problems that confronts the parkmanager in the selection of attractions is to have a numberthat will retain their drawing power year after year withoutrequiring heavy maintenance or renewal expenditures. Thisis particularly true of the illuminated spectacular features,as the people expect to see something different every timethey visit the grounds. Among night attractions the electric. THE ELECTRIC ILLUMINATED FOUNTAIN IN ACTION illuminated fountain with human groupings is a spectaclethat has continued popular ever since its introduction in theearly days of electric traction. Much of the work along these lines was originated byC. A. Dunlap, of Electric Park, Newark, N. J., who hasdesigned and installed many fountains of this character inparks throughout the United States. Mr. Dunlap is himselfa successful park manager and his claims for the fountainare substantiated by his own experiences with it at Electric 514 STREET RAILWAY JOURNAL. [Vol. XXIX. No. 12. Park, where over 15,000 people have crowded in on a Sun-day evening. A clear proof of its popularity in anotherpark is afforded by one of the accompanying illustrations ofan electric fountain and its surroundings taken during theday.
