Gurage, Ethiopia, October 2013 SUNARMA project benificiary Tedela Asfew's wife Lekelish Maregn, 35 and children with their animals that sleep in their section of the family's home. The family have three cows, two lambs and one donkey. Tadela grows vegetables and enset on his one hectare of land. He has 800 enset plants. He also makes Areke and sells it at the local market. Day labouring earns him 60 additional birr a day. The land was a gift from his grandfather, he enjoys farming work and plans to instigate small scale irrigation to expand his farm including apples and forage for his animals.
