Dungiven, Londonderry. 28th April, 2016. A 2 year old Heardwick ewe who’d just lambed for the first time on Colin Gibson’s Farm in the Sperrin mountains with the word ‘IN’ sprayed on its wool. The word ‘IN’ is the slogan for Northern Ireland Stronger In Europe which Colin believes is the only option in the upcoming vote. Credit: Mark Winter/Alamy Live News

54yo Colin Gibson’s sheep and cattle farm in the Sperrin Mountains near Dungiven Northern Ireland. Today, one of Colin’s cows, a 3yo Belted Galloway named Lucy, was drafted in to express Colin’s beef with the Leave campaign. As he painted her ‘white belt’ with the word ‘IN’, the slogan for Northern Ireland Stronger In Europe, he said: ‘If they vote over in England and everywhere else to leave the EU then a lot of farms here will be closed very soon after. The money won’t be coming into the economy and we won’t be getting much of what they’re left with.’ He then turned his attentions to a 2yo Heardwick ewe who’d just lambed for the first time and who is yet to be named. Colin is open to suggestions, though he did like the idea that she was now the most pro E-ewe sheep in Europe.
