Mdina, Malta - The Silent City; fortified & walled; formerly the capital; Mdina dates back to the 8th Century BC - yes, Before Christ!
Mdina; the old capital of Malta. Its narrow streets, few inhabitants and beautiful views over the Island make it a truly a magical town. This medieval town presents a mix of Norman and Baroque architecture and is the home to many palaces, most of which today are private homes. As in most locations throughout Malta; these centuries old local sandstone structures are extremely photogenic - some dating back to the 8th Century BC. These have most all been refurbished, and look relatively new.
