The Gauls in Rome. The Gauls sacked Rome in 390BC, older senators stayed in the Forum where they were all killed. Surviving Romans were forced to pay the Gauls gold to depart and to prevent the city from being sacked again, following this they improved their military power and reinforced the city wall.
