Zoological illustrations. 18th-century journal page with various artworks, including a fish (upper left), a sheep's kidney (four artworks at top right), and a flamingo (figures 50-55, lower left). The rest of the artworks show various aspects of the anatomy of a woodpecker. This page is from volume 5 of the 1734 edition of 'The Philosophical Transactions', an abridged collection of papers from the Royal Society. In these abridged collections, artworks from several different papers would be included on a single page. The papers in this collection were all published in 'Philosophical Transactions' in the period 1703 to 1712.
