Exercise bike training for Skylab, 1973. US astronaut Charles (Pete) Conrad Jr (1930-1990) wiping perspiration from his face following an exercise session on the bicycle ergometer during Skylab training at the Johnson Space Center (JSC), Houston, Texas, USA. The US space station Skylab was in orbit from 1973 to 1979. Conrad is in the Skylab Orbital Workshop (OWS) trainer at JSC. An ergometer was used on the space station to analyse the metabolic activity of the astronauts. Conrad was the commander of the first manned Skylab mission (named Skylab 2) from 25 May to 22 June 1973. Photographed on 1 March 1973.
