Have I not, in the past, subscribed to M. Maeterlinck's dictum that " To him who has known them and loved them, a summer where there are no bees becomes as sad and as empty as one without flowers or ; My past season has been a good one, and the result from the two, as yet, small apiaries in which I am interested remind me of the palmiest days of the years that are gone. As increase was desired, and ob- tained, no average take can be recorded, but it mav suffice that individual takes of.
