Acourse of popular lectures on art has been deliveredby Mr. John Quincy Adams, of the Art Commissionof New York, under the auspices of the MunicipalArt Society, in the market halls of the city. Thecourse comprised ten lectures, each of which wasgiven three times in as many different places. Thefirst was delivered on November 27 and the lastFebruary 27. They were illustrated by objectsand stereopticon slides, and were practical as wellas popular. Some of the subjects were, for exam-ple : What is Art?
