EIGHTH ARMY : VARIOUS - The chief relaxation of Gurhka troops when out of the line is a game called volley ball. It is a nine-a-side game played on a pitch approximately 40 ft. x 20 ft. with a net 10 ft. high separating the teams. Points are scored when the ball is driven out of court and not returned over the net before it touches the ground. A standard size football is used, and only the hands may be used to play the ball. "Rallys" sometimes last as long as three minutes. Photographic negative , British Army
