The optimists predict the best business ever, while the more conservative claim business will be about like that of last year. The local growers probably will be short of pot plants and many are looking elsewhere for suitable plant offerings for the day. The cut flower growers will be in good crop, but, of course, there is not enough nor a suffi- cient variety grown here to meet all the demands for stock. Two weeks of the genuine April brand of weather did not seem to hurt business much, since all the stores re- port business good considering existing conditions. Some excellent stock of Hydrangea rosea is on the market at present, but to all appearances will be disposed of before Mothers' day. Various Uotes. The suit in the Mrs. J. B. Freeman- Crause case, to remove the husband as administrator, was compromised by the administrator offering to settle with the grandchild for $8,000 clear. Hirzol Bros, have the finest pink hy- drangeas seen on this market for a long time. Louis Merkel, of C. Merkel & Son, Mentor, O., was in town booking orders for Mothers' day. H. E. K.
