That I have anyprofped of affording either, by a recital of fads, fo recentas to be univerfally known, may poflibly be a queflion withmany. But the anfwer is ready. Though the fads, hererecited, are known now, how long will that knowledge con-tinue, if they are trailed meerly to memory ?—And as fomuch time has patted without producing any other attemptto record them, why fhould I not offer this of mine?— Inftead, therefore, of giving up my hopes of attainingeither of thefe ends, I honeflly own my ambition afpires toboth.
