The Lumen video and performance festival is held amidst piles of salt, used to prevent freezing on roads during winter storms, at Atlantic Salt Inc. in the New York borough of Staten Island on Saturday, June 23, 2012. The yearly free festival presents performance art and video in an industrial space on Staten Island. Because of an unusually mild winter Atlantic Salt has an over abundance in their inventory of salt creating a surreal landscape for the performers. (© Richard B. Levine)
