Wirksworth Great Barmote Court. Brass freeing dish dated 1512 containing lead ore and stone tablet with the names of former and current Court Stewards and Barmasters. The Derbyshire White Peak has been the site of lead mining activity since Roman times. Barmote Courts have been held since 1288 and are thought to be the oldest industrial courts in the world. The court now sits annually at the Moot Hall, Wirksworth on the 3rd Wednesday in April.
