The Golden Jackal is the only species of Jackal in the Indian subcontinent, they are small-sized than their close relatives' wolves and wild dogs. A group of the wild golden jackals (Canis aureus) has come out of the flooded dens at night due to rain and eating Termite insects under the roadside lamp post at the locality at Tehatta, West Bengal; India.
