It demands no exercise of imagination to suppose that one or other of the shops seen in front of the picture was occupied by Walton's friend and printer, Richard Marriott, fronn whence issued in the year 1653 the first tiny edition of " The Compleat ; Underneath the engraving is the following brief history of the church— " This Church was dedicated to St. Dunstan, Archb" of Cant., who died 990, and.
