The modern practice of physic : exhibiting the character, causes, symptoms, prognostics, morbid appearances, and improved method of treating the diseases of all climates . of the ergot, I certainly should have prescri-bed it, for the purpose of hastening the delivery. Upon suggesting to Dr. W. Moore this application of the ergot, he soearnestly concurred in the propriety of the measure, that he at once ex-pressed his determination to give it a trial in the first case of uterine hae-morrhage of this nature that may fall under his care. In cases of this nature I believe the ergot wille a valuable resource. I am, dear sir, with sentiments of great respect,Your obliged friend and pupil, DAVID HOSACK. »n, ,MN M. [). F. R.
