Australia South East Queensland Glass House Mountains A group of mountains 7 of them being declared a National Park Discovered by Captain James Cook in 1770 He gave them this name as they resembled the glass furnaces of his native Yorkshire They are all volcanic plugs eroded in time in an otherwise flat landscape This image shows Mount Coonowrin meaning crook neck with Mount Beerwah in the background
