The CAPSTONE course objective is to make new general and flag officers more effective in planning and employing forces in joint and combined operations. Fellows visited the JTF-SD to gain a better understanding of how the organization executes its protect and defend mission through its operations center, the National Space Defense Center, space domain awareness units and emerging space defense units. The JTF-SD, and its NSDC, provide unprecedented unity of effort with the Department of Defense, Intelligence Community and National Reconnaissance Office to protect and defend against threats in the space domain.
