J., July 8, held several positions in different com-panies from 1892 to 1894, and then startedbusiness in the manufacture and sale ofincandescent lamps. He was connected withthe Essex Lamp Co., of Newark, N. J., from1894 to 1900; and in the latter year becameconnected with the Sawyer-Man ElectricCo., New York, being made assistant super-intendent in 1901, and acting superintendentin 1902. Mr. Jackson is the son of Francis W. andAdeline (Egbert) Jackson. He married Har- 438 THE STEVENS INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY riet M. Egbert, October 23, 1901, and theyhave one child, Elisabeth Egbert II. W. Jackson, Walter Weldon (, 89), wasborn in East Orange, N. J., January 4, was in the employ of the Safety CarHeating & Lighting Co., New York, 1889:and with the Builders Iron Foundry, Prov-idence, R. I., 1889-99, first as draughtsman,next as machinist, and later in charge of theAenturi meter department, and conductingtests. In May, 1899, he joined the Provi-dence Engineering Works as assistant super-intendent, and in March of the followingyear resigned to accept the position of su-perintendent of the Wheeler Condenser &Engineering Co., Carteret, N. J. This posi-tion he held until February, 1904, when heresigned, and has since been engaged inconsulting and expert engineering work. Jointly with Mr. F. N. Connet (, 89)he took out a patent for an integrating-ma-chine
