Monument to Fire and Adelaide House


Adelaide House in the City of London. Adelaide House, by John James Burnet Tait and Partners,1924-5, was in many ways the first modern office building in the City with air conditioning, an internal mail system and even a rooftop putting green. Exterior has neo-Egyptian art deco influence. Tower of St Magnus the Martyr by Christopher Wren, and tall fluted column capped by flaming urn is the Monument to the Great Fire of London, by Wren and Robert Hooke.
