Posterior tips of frontals failing to reach supra-occipital, leaving a pair of semicircular or triangular fontanelles narrowly divided in the midline by the anterior extension of the supra-occipital (fontanelles retained but smaller in the largest specimens). Posterior border of gill opening fairly evenly rounded but with well-developed cleithral lobe, silver. Isthmus white (? silver in life), with posterior third bearing.
