Thesize of the fire box necessitates the cen-trally placed cab. The staying is, ofcourse, radial, with ^ in. thickness ofcrown sheet; ^ in. for tube sheet, and5^ in. back and side. The driving wheels,69 ins. in diameter, are large when thedesign of the fire box is considered, butthe details have been carefully workeuout, and, although the boiler is not un-usually high, there is ample space be-tween back driver and fire box.
