25 Stutzpunkt Vigso (Stronghold Vigso) sunken in Vigsø Bugt (Vigso Bay) in Vigso, North Jutland Region, Denmark. August 20th 2010, was one of defensive fortifications in Danish part of the Atlantic Wall during WWII. Atlantikwall (Atlantic Wall) was built from 1942 to 1945 by Organisation Todt (OT) of the Nazi German occupation forces to prevent the Allied forces to land troops on the shores of Nazi-occupied Europe from France–Spain border to northern Norway. Some 2000 bunkers were built mainly on the North Sea coast of Denmark where 4 defense unit types were created: Widerstandsnest (smallest independent defense unit), Stutzpunkt (several Widerstandsnest), Stutzpunktgruppe (several Stutzpunkt) and Verteidigungsbereich (the largest defense unit). Fortifications were built, but were not fully equipped and armed, and they did not take part in the fight in 1945. Bunkers were known from Danish comedy film Olsen Banden i Jylland (The Olsen Gang in Jutland) of famous Olsen Gang series, as a place where Nazi German treasure was hidden © Wojciech Strozyk / Alamy Stock Photo
