They located in Jeffersoncounty, Wisconsin, and remained there until the time of theirdeath, living upon the farm which the father had entered in theearly days. This consisted of some four hundred acres, all of itwell improved, the father having been an excellent farmer. Hedied in November. having almost attained the great age ofninety-one years. The mother died in 1897. having lived almostto the age of seventy. She belonged to the church. is one of three sons and four daughters, one of his brothersbeing now deceased. His brother Henry lives at Oldham. Mr. Pester was reared and educated in Jefferson county, Wis-consin, and was unmarried when he came to Iowa. He had noheritage with which to start except his own industry. In 1870he located in Cerro Gordo county and the following year boughteighty acres near the town in Clear Lake township. He addedforty acres and in course of time came to own other farms. In1902 he sold out and went to North Dakota, purchasing a farm inGrand Porks county. He was not quite satisfied, however, andreturning to Clear Lake, bought his present homestead.
