An EF 4 Rain wrapped tornado with wind speeds up to 180 mph crawls it way across the interstate highway east of Manhattan, Kansas. According to the National Weather Service in Topeka the half mile wide storm started near Solomon, Kansas, and then traveled on the ground for 26 miles for 90 minutes and ended three miles southeast of Chapman, Kansas, along the way it damaged seventy three homes some with missing shingles and blown windows to 8 that were totally destroyed.
