ASTROLOGY - ECLIPSE Mediaeval woodcut depicting the nature of an eclipse, regulated by the movitori, or planetary angels, operating from outside the zodiacal band. The clothed figure (right) is holding the shadow cone thrown by the light of the Sun (in zodiacal Cancer) on to the Earth. The shadow falls on the face of the Moon (itself in Capricorn), and reduces this to darkness. Woodcut vignette of early 16th century.
