Rnth nhrvnoa No 94fi4 KANSAS CITY. The Market. The retailers were favored with ex- ceptionally fine weather for Easter, which increased the volume of business to just double their expectations. Pot jdants had a heavy demand. Spiraeas sold better this Easter than last. Pans of daffodils, tulips and other bulbous stock sold well. Corsage bouquets seemed to have an exceptionally heavy demand, as the weather was fine and everybody was out enjoying new Easter suits. Lilies sold fast and there were some florists who had to turn down orders for them, as they had sold out early and no" more were to be had. Roses had the heaviest call in the cut flower line, Kil- larneys taking the lead. Carnations sold well. Cut bulbous stock sold only up to the expectation. The call for potted roses, ramblers, etc., was fine, but people here, as a general rule, do not care to pay over $~) for Easter flow- ers, which makes the call for larger plants limited. Various Notes. The city was visited with a heavy wind Sunday evening. Although little damage was done, several greenhouses report that the wind blew out a few lights of glass. .T. Austin reports trade for Easter up to expectations. Biedermann & Son's business was good. Everything seemed to sell that Mfrito. Wir* or Phono JOHN WALKER 11 S.
