Entance gate to Valdemars Slot (Castle). Tåsinge, Denmark. The castle was built by Christain the 4th and was finalized in 1644, for just a few years later beeing destroyed during the war between Denmark and Sweden, 1658-59. The Danish hero of the war, Admiral Niels Juel, who victoriously lead a small fleet against a superior Swedish fleet at Koege Bugt, received the castle from the King (due to the fact that the bankrupt Treasury could not pay him his was prize in cash) and restored it.
