The Thamesteel plant at Sheerness, Kent. The plant closed in 2012, but plans are under discussion for partial re-opening.


The Thamesteel site closed in 2012, with the loss of 350 jobs. As of December 2014, it is reported that there have been talks of reopening part of the plant and that this could see the creation of 120 jobs. Thie reopened plant would be a rolling mill only,with no steel actually being produced on site.
