Encroaching Industrialization, oil rings off the coast of the mangrove forest, Singapore

While walking through the mangrove forest within the Pulau Ubin nature reserve we came out to this view. The oil rigs just visible through the midday heat, a lonely dead tree out to sea, separated from the rest of the forest by open water. A sad sight but yet almost necessary in today's need for fossil fuels.
