Boiler factory, historical artwork. The advent of new technologies, and the production of items such as these boilers, fuelled the period of growth known as the Industrial Revolution. Boilers were used in a wide variety of places, including factories to provide energy and heat, and in trains to provide steam power. They were also used in the chemical and drinks industries, to boil liquids, such as in distilleries. This is the W. and J. Galloway and Sons boiler factory, in Manchester, UK. This artwork is from a book published in 1887.
