James Lee Adams, son of William and Emma (But-ler) Adams, was born May 27, 1873, Robinson town-ship, Allegheny county. Pa. He received his early edu-cation in the public schools, then attended the Pitts-burgh Academy, the Slippery Rock Normal School, andthe Western University of Pennsylvania (now the Uni-versity of Pittsburgh), where he was graduated fromthe Law School in 1905.
