Within the fort are the remains of a numberof rectangular foundations in two contiguous rows, and of otherbuildings, all probably connected with some late secondary occupation. Mutiny Stones, Mittenfid of Stones Meeting Stones.—Situated on the Byrecleugh Kidge, a heathery moor about £ milenorth of Byrecleugh shooting-lodge and 4J miles west of Longformacus,1250 feet above sea-level, is a long cairn formed of the angular stonesof the district. Lying with its longest axis east and west, it measures278 feet in extreme length, 26 feet in breadth at the west end,suddenly expanding at 278 feet eastward and showing a frontage of76 feet at its eastern extremity. It is only 3 feet high at the westend, but gradually rises till, at the centre of the east end, it has an inventory of monuments, etc., in county of berwick. 131 Parish of Longformacus. elevation of 11 \ feet. A large sheep-fold has been built out of italong the south side, and otherwise it has suffered much fromdilapidation. At
