. 7 Battalion, Durham Light Infantry Second Lieutenant Frank Calder Tilbrook joined the Grimsby Chums (10th Battalion, Lincolnshire Regiment) as soon as he turned 19 on 3 October 1914. He accepted a commission and became a second lieutenant in the 7th Battalion, Durham Light Infantry, on 1 August 1915. He was attached to 231st Field Company, Royal Engineers, as an acting captain at the time of his death. After training at Houghton-le-Spring, he left for France on 10 November 1916. He was killed in action on 10 April 1918, aged 22. He is buried at Haverskerque British Cemetery in France. Faces
