HERBALIST

Reportage on herbalists in the Bauges mountain range in Savoie, France. They grow and sell organic aromatic and medicinal plants. The herbalist puts the collected plants in a dryer (35°) with a dehumidifier to extract water from the fresh plants, therefore preserving them and their main active ingredients. Bergamot, the leaves contain thymol, an antseptic, and can be applied to spots, inhaled for colds, and infused for nausea, flatulence and insomnia. Bergamot petals can be used to make an aperitif.
