In all whistleswhenever the valve is badly wornthe cup is of little or no value. Tomeet this condition the valve hasbeen made so that the seats are thesame as are employed in the Crosbyspring-seat valve, shown elsewherein this volume, and are seen in theabove mentioned cut marked (A)and (B).
