Galveston hurricane storm surge. This artwork shows the hurricane-induced storm surge that flooded the offshore island and port of Galveston, Texas, USA, on 8 September 1900. This was the deadliest hurricane in US history, killing over 7000 people. The main artwork shows the surge pouring over sea walls.
