The opportunity to arrest the attention of the passing throng has been ever present but wasted. If cultivated along these lines it cannot help but become one of the store's greatest assets and that too with scarcely any addition to the overhead. The great majority of these displays need not be classed as feature or bar- gain sales, but can consist of up-to-date seasonable stock, attractively displayed and priced, so that its value can be seen at a glance. The price itself to the interested observer who can afford the purchase, is an invitation to enter the shop and make a selection, which without this information there would not be the same desire. Here is a trade advantage that is within the reach of every retailer who will give it thought and has the energy to carry it out. Henry A. Zender. President of Peter Reinberg, Inc. Amling: Float in Parade. The accompanying illustration shows a float prepared by the A. P. Amling Co., Maywood, 111., which was used in a parade in connection with the Frank- lin Park business men's picnic, held re- cently. The car was covered with solid panels of Columbia and Butterfly rosea, over 2,500 blooms being used. Sprays of Columbia roses and gladioli decked the fenders.
