Reportably the site of Bonnie Prince Charlie's landing on Skye at Elgol. An old man was telling me that this house, probably described as a "rude hut" belonged to his great grand-parents and back through the generations from them was the location that Charles Stewart landed on Skye and was fed but then send elsewhere to find shelter for fear of retribution from the authorities. These old family tales often have more than a grain of truth to them so perhaps this is, indeed, a place that the Young Pretender spent at least a little time. It certainly has one of the finest views in Scotland!
