Runners in the Red Wave get ready at the start of the 2012 Cherry Blossom 10-Miler, the 40th running of the race that is run every spring in Washington DC to coincide with the National Cherry Blossom Festival. The course starts near the Washington Monument, heads over Memorial Bridge and back, goes up under the Kennedy Center, around the Tidal Basin and past the Jefferson Memorial, and then does a loop around Hains Point back to the finish near the Washington Monument.
