Built originally as an ice factory, the Fireside Bowl in Chicago was converted into bowling alleys in the 1940s. For decades Fireside Bowl was a haven of activity for Chicago bowling leagues and recreation. By the 1990s, however, the venue was not about bowling at all, but became a place-to-be location to hear and see hardcore punk rock music. That phase ended in 2004 and as of 2016 was again a retro-fitted bowling alley that represents a throw back to another era. The venerable lanes are located on Fullerton Avenue in Chicago's Logan Square neighborhood.
