The pulsationof the temporal is felt as it crosses the zygoma, and both here and 292. The motor nerves (facial nerve) come through the parotid glandand radiate on the side of the face, transversely toward the nose, upward toward the eye and forehead, and downward the towardthe neck. Sensory nerves, branches of the trifacial {trigeminus), appear atthe three foramina mentioned elsewhere—supraorbital, infraorbitaland mental—the three particularly sensitive spots in the front of theface. Practical note.—The tongue muscles and the floor of the mouth{mylo-hyoid muscle) are both connected with the mandible. There-fore, if the jaw be held forward and upward, it will control the posi-tion of the tongue when the muscles are relaxed, as under , the necessity for this precaution to prevent the tongue fromfalling back into the thr
