Prehistoric tomb in Noto Ancient (Noto old town). Rock tomb. Sicily.
To the northeast consists of the northern fortifications of the Gate of the Mountain, it is one of the prehistoric necropolis of Monte Alveria. Graves are opened along a stretch of the wall and have the characteristic development checkerboard, however there are few graves still intact since many are now being destroyed by erosion is that the numerous earthquakes that occurred in history. As well as other scattered cemeteries, the graves are therefore associated to the Iron Age in content and in the constructive structure of the tombs can be related with the nearby settlement of Finocchito which represents one of the last outposts Sicilians in full Greek colonization.
