SAN ANTONIO (Feb. 20, 2018) Post Cmdr. Al Alford presented retired Navy Rear. Adm. Eric Coy Young with a membership to the Fred Brock American Legion Post No. 828 located on Martin Luther King Drive during an America's Navy briefing themed, “The Navy the Nation Needs”, held at the post during Navy Week, Feb. 19-25. Young, a native of Abilene, Texas, and former commander of Navy Reserve Forces Command in Norfolk, Va., briefed more than 100 members of the post to include legion district representatives. Sailors and civilians from the USS Constitution; Navy Band Southeast; USS San Antonio (LPD-17); Explosive Ordnance Disposal Group Two; Navy Ceremonial Guard; Naval History and Heritage Command; and Naval Meteorology and Oceanography Command are in the city for a series of engagements designed to bring America's Navy closer to the people its protects.
