Feat of Captain Manuel José Pineda (January 1795). After the reorganisation of the Spanish troops by General Urrutia, Captain Pineda was ordered to surprise a reserve artillery park of the French army, in the Pla del Cotó, located between Bellegarde and Figueras, with a contingent of Catalan volunteers and 200 somatenes, he reached the rear of the French army, attacking it with bayonets.
